NOTE TO EXHIBITORS & FAIRGOERS

All livestock exhibitors’ cars, trailers and trucks will be permitted in the Fair grounds show area to deliver feed and supplies only until 9:00 A.M. each day. Any car, truck or trailer found in the livestock exhibit area after 9:00 A.M. will be towed into the parking lot area at the expense of the owner.

There will be no more than 1 fan per 3 head of cattle exhibited and all butt fans will be powered by generators only.

To provide exhibitors and fairgoers with the best in county fairs, we have revised and updated our Premium Book. Please read rules and regulations carefully before making an entry.

All exhibitors must wear either leather shoes or boots when showing and no tennis shoes will be allowed.

Animals shown in the Junior Show, registered in the name of the exhibitor, will be eligible to be shown in the Open Show in the Group Classes, providing these Junior Exhibitors are members of the immediate family or firm exhibiting.

All entries must have registration papers from their respective breed association to be eligible for exhibition. No entries will be made by the Secretary after Tuesday, July 27, SEVEN DAYS BEFORE THE OPENING OF THE FAIR. Mail your entries and checks to, Livestock Supervisor, Knox County Fair, Knoxville, Illinois. Exhibitors passes can be picked up when health papers are presented.

WILL BE JUDGED SATURDAY, STARTING AT 8:00 A.M. IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER - ALL OTHER RECORDED BREEDS, HEREFORD, SIMMENTALS, ANGUS, MAINEANJOU, SHORTHORN.

All exhibitors are required to possess a registration certificate for each animal that enters the show area. All stalls will be assigned by the Superintendent.

Animals intended for exhibition may enter the grounds on Wednesday, after 5:00 P.M. but must be on the grounds by 9:00 A.M. on Thursday.

Same rule applies to Jr. Livestock.

All entries must be accompanied by check for entry fees, stall fees, exhibitor's pass (and helper's pass if such is desired), These entries and checks must be in the hands of the secretary, Tuesday, July 27, seven days before the opening of the Fair and there will be no deviation from this rule. Payment may be made either by check or cash. Entry fees and stall fees must be paid in full and will in no case be returned, and no refund of entry fees or stall fees will be made to non- winners. It is not necessary to make entries in the Champion classes and no entry fee will be charged for winners in the Champion classes. See further rules under Rules and Regulations.

Animals will not be released from the Fairgrounds until Sunday. Exhibitor will be required to obtain a release certificate from the Department Superintendent before he loads his livestock. Release certificate blank forms will be available at the Livestock Office on Sunday morning.

Owners must furnish all water pails for watering cattle, as for sanitary reasons all watering troughs will be removed.

No exhibitor shall be permitted to win more than two prizes in any one class.

All Shorthorn must be registered as the property of the exhibitor in the records of the American Shorthorn Association, as of a date prior to the opening of the Fair.

Individual animals shown in all group classes listed below must have been entered and shown in one of the following classes for single animals.

All Shorthorn, Polled Shorthorn, Hereford, Polled Hereford, and Angus are subject to a tatoo inspection by representatives of the Fair Association. They are also subject to the age inspection if deemed necessary and the decision of the Fair Association shall be final. All class winners in the Angus division are eligible for blood typing in accordance with the American Angus Association rules and regulations.

RULES OF ELIGIBILITY - FEMALE CLASSES

SIMMENTAL

To be eligible for this class all entries must be 3/4 blood or more Simmentals. Registration papers must be available for inspection by the Superintendent, except for Jr. Heifer Calves. Registration papers on dam and sire must be available for inspection. In case of A.I. a breeding certificate will be sufficient.

MAINEANJOU

To be eligible for this class, all entries must be registered by the Maineanjou Association. Registration papers must be available for inspection by the Superintendent, except for Jr. Heifer Calves. Registration papers on dam and sire must also be available for inspection.

In case of A.I. a breeding certificate will be sufficient. Animals shown in this class will not be eligible to show in All Other Recorded Breeds class.

ALL OTHER RECORDED BREEDS

To be eligible for this class a female entry must be registered by their respective association, in name of exhibitor or firm showing such animal. This class is for all breeds not represented by a respective breed classification.

ALL OTHER RECORDED BREEDS REGISTRATION PAPERS AND TATTOOS WILL BE CHECKED AT 10:00 A.M. THURSDAY MORNING.

A-Summer Yearling Heifer-calved between August 1 and Sept. 30, 2003

B-Early Summer Yearling Heifer-calved between June 1 and July 31, 2003

D-Jr. Yearling Heifer-calved between Jan. 1 and Mar. 31, 2003
